Problem: The BYOD connection is plugged in to the laptop used for the meeting but the camera/mic/speakers are not shown as devices in the meetin app on the laptop.

The MTR system must have the BYOD extender hardware installed.

Troubleshooting:

  • Check the cables:
    • The BYOD extender requires a PoE connection and is connected via a PoE switch to the UVC camera. Note, this is NOT an ethernet connection but uses a PoE switch.
    • Make sure the switch port to the BYOD extender has PoE. Some switches only have PoE on some ports, not all.
    • If a UVC40 soundbar with mic/camera is used, the BYOD cable can be connected directly to the UVC40. This is only possible if no other audio devices are connected, in which case a PoE switch is required.

Logitech

The MTR system must have the Swytch hardware installed.

Troubleshooting:

  • Restart the laptop. Often the problem lies with the laptop.
  • Power cycle the Swytch extender (usually mounted under the table)
  • Power cycle the Swytch hub (usually mounted near the mini PC behind the monitor)
